Family Promise Fundraiser to Feature Local Stars

By Sponsored Content

CAPE MAY – This year’s Family Promise’s Shining Star Gala will feature these prominent local stars!
Former Eagle Dan Klecko has earned not one, not two, but three Super Bowl Rings during his NFL career. Drafted by the Patriots in 2003 he went on to earn his first two rings while playing with the Pats before moving over to the Colts where he earned his third ring. Following the Colts, he played with the Falcons as well as the Eagles during his career. A three-time AFC Champion, Dan was a Big East Defensive Player of the Year. If the name Klecko sounds familiar, Dan is the son of former NFL great, Joe Klecko.
Roy Steinberg had already established a reputation in the performing arts community prior to assuming the helm of Cape May Stage. His credits include work on programs such as, “Days of our Lives,” the “Guiding Light,” “Forensic Files” and “Medical Detectives.” Prior to his transition as a Director and Acting Coach, he worked as an actor on Broadway and numerous regional theatres. We are so glad to welcome this treasure of the Cape May arts community.
Mary Ann Castagnetta is a writer, performer and busy mom whose books inspire her young readers to never give up on their dreams. Her first book, “Bubble Gum Dreams” was published in 2009 followed the following year by “Elephant Soup.” Both books have been honored by “The Young Voices Foundation” which recognizes those books that inspire, mentor and educate both young people and their families. Ms. Castagnetta is a person who “gives back” through her talent and creativity.
Danny Bader is an author and writer who both inspires and leads people on a guided journey to self-fulfillment and happiness. His thought-provoking and inspirational yet humorous talks have been compiled into his first book, “Back from Heaven’s Front Porch.” We are fortunate that Danny’s personal journey has intersected with that of Family Promise.
“Philly Bill” Culp: Say “WIBBAGE” to those who came of age in the Delaware Valley during the 60’s and 70’s and a smile will come across their face because it was “WIBBAGE” that defined their youth, and for many, “Philly Bill” was the voice of “WIBBAGE.” Off the air for 27 years while making his name known in corporate America, “Philly Bill” returned to local airwaves in 2006 with his “Down the Shore with Philly Bill” program on Oldies 94.3. As President of his own entertainment production company, BRIK Productions, “Philly Bill” resurrected the original “WIBBAGE” format in 2009. Rock has indeed returned to South Jersey.
Don Tollefson is one of Philadelphia’s favorite sports broadcasters and an all around nice guy. A former sports anchor for FOX Ten O’clock News on Channel 6 and an ABC Sportscaster and Sports Director, he currently works for the Philadelphia Eagles and co-hosts, “Eagles Game Plan.” Please join us in thanking Don for agreeing to handle the gavel as our auctioneer.
On Tuesday evening, Oct. 15 from 6:00 until 10:00 you can help Cape May County’s homeless families by buying a ticket and enjoying an evening of food, wine, music and dancing at the Windrift Resort in Avalon. Your participation in this event will help Family Promise bring Shining Hope to homeless families throughout the county. In addition to a gourmet food station, wine tasting bar and music by the six piece orchestra, BLT, your ticket entitles you to participate in a premier silent auction. We hope that you will show your support of Family Promise by advertising in the official Event Book, and or by donating an item to the auction.
Reservations are limited to the first 250 guests who have made their $55 per person donation, so RSVP early. Checks should be made payable to: Family Promise of Cape May County, 505 Town Bank Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204.
To obtain additional information about your ad in the Event Book, donating to the auction or to make payment by credit/debit card, call Family Promise at 609-846-7862.
Value of donated items is tax deductible. Ask Family Promise for a receipt.
