COURT HOUSE – The Pitchforks & Buckets 4-H Club will host the 4th Annual Cape Rabbit Show May 21 at 9 a.m., doors will open at 7 a.m. The show, sanctioned by the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA), will take place at the Lockwood 4-H Youth Center, located on the 4-H fairgrounds at 355 Court House South Dennis Rd., Court House.
Club Leader Duke Hamann said, “We are expecting over 3,000 rabbits and 250 guinea pigs.” There will be two open shows, two youth shows and several breed specialty shows May 20 at 10 a.m. The National Himalayan Rabbit Show will take place at the Lockwood Center throughout the day. “Plus, we will have over 50 different breeds of rabbits over the weekend,” added Hamann.
On May 20 at 10 a.m. the National Himalayan Rabbit Show will take place at the Lockwood Center. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the show will start at 10 a.m. There will be approximately 200 Himalayan rabbits from all over the country competing at this national show. Also, on Saturday, there will be an open rabbit clinic at 1 p.m. for all 4-H members.
ARBA is an organization dedicated to the promotion, development and improvement of the domestic rabbit and cavy. With over 23,000 members throughout the United States, Canada, and abroad, their members range from the pet owner with one rabbit or cavy to the breeder or commercial raiser with several hundred animals.
