COURT HOUSE — Cape May County 4-H member Elizabeth Schalick, a member of the Whinny Pigs 4-H Club, recently attended a conference especially designed to give middle-school age 4-H youth the opportunity to develop their leadership skills.
“The Discover the Leader in You!” 4-H Leadership Conference provides an opportunity for sixth to eighth graders to learn about and develop their leadership skills through interactive and fun activities. Additionally, conference participants meet 4-H’ers from across New Jersey; make new friends and gain valuable personal development in understanding self, communicating, getting along with others and decision making.
In today’s world, strong leadership and communication are critical to success. The 4-H “learn by doing” model places major emphasis on the development of such life skills.
4-H offers educational programs to all youth, grades K-13, on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
