WHITESBORO — Beginning today, April 8 at 6 p.m., and continuing until 9 p.m., then again on Friday, April 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. and concluding Saturday, April 10, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Youth in Action will gather young people from throughout the community and nearby towns to give them positive direction.
Young people from several area churches are planning to convene at those times at Martin Luther King Community Center, on West Main Street.
According to organizer Mary Carey, “We are trying to gather youth from all the churches. Our purpose is to try to get youth off the streets and given them positive direction in their life.”
The intention is to get young people off the streets and let them gather with others who attend church more regularly, so that all may become acquainted, and those who lack direction and purpose may find it.
They will be preaching, giving testimony and dancing, Carey said.
“This is a vision the Lord gave me, and this is the outcome,” said Carey.
