ATLANTIC CITY– Mayor William Pikolycky was inducted into the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Mayors’ Hall of Fame at the Twenty Year level on November 17 during the League’s annual Conference. Also honored at that level were Elsinboro Township Mayor John J. Elk and Long Branch City Mayor Adam Schneider.
Mayor Pikolycky was previously inducted in the League’s Elected Officials Hall of Fame at the Thirty Year level.
Induction into the Mayors’ Hall of Fame or the Elected Officials’ Hall of Fame recognizes municipal officials who have selflessly guided their communities through the good times and troubled times with little recognition of their sacrifice. This token of appreciation will shine a light on these pillars in our communities and hold them up as an example of civic pride for all citizens to emulate.
The New Jersey League of Municipalities opened the doors of the Mayors’ Hall of Fame on Wednesday November 15, 1995 at the Mayors’ Luncheon during the 80th Annual League Conference.
The Mayors’ Hall of Fame inductees must be serving as mayor and have at least ten years of mayoral service to be inducted at the silver level, and at least 20 years of mayoral service to be inducted at the gold level.
The New Jersey State League of Municipalities inaugurated the Elected Officials Hall of Fame during the Seventh Annual Mayors Legislative Day January 27, 1999 at the State House Annex in Trenton. The honor is reserved for local municipal governing body members, active and retired, who have served for twenty or more years as a governing body member.
