Tradition Reigns in Cape May, Queen Maysea LXXVI Crowned

CAPE MAY — A longstanding tradition, part of this city’s summer events, the crowning of Queen Maysea, took place July 30
Melanie Ferguson Sheehan, 10, of Cape May, is a student at Star of the Sea School. She was crowned the 76th annual Queen Maysea July 30 by Mayor Edward J. Mahaney Jr.
Sheehan’s grandmother was crowned Queen Maysea in 1962, the year the previous Convention Hall was washed away by a storm.
