Surf Was Up for 16th Annual ‘Nun’s Beach Surf Contest’

STONE HARBOR — Heavy gray clouds and rain did not stop avid surfers of all ages from heading out into the breakers in front of Villa Maria by the Sea for the 16th Annual Nun’s Beach Surf Contest, Sat., Sept. 17.
Sister James Dolores told the contingent of hearty wave riders that what they do to assist in raising funds for the retreat house of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is remembered in the daily prayers offered by the 1,000 members of the order.
