By Herald Staff

OCEAN CITY — On Sunday, May 17, South Jersey Industries employees, accompanied by South Jersey Gas mascot Comfy Bear, joined the fight against heart disease at the American Heart Association’s Spring 2009 Start! Heart Walk at the boardwalk in Ocean City. More than 100 SJI employees registered for the walk and together they raised $8,000 for the cause. Although official numbers will not be released for several more weeks, to date the American Heart Association raised more than $350,000 from the 2009 Walk.
The American Heart Association’s mission is “Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”
