Resident Celebrates Turning 101 Years Old with a Party

COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Director Gerald M. Thornton and the staff of Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center honored Collette Lombardi with a birthday party Sept. 16. She will be turning 101 Sept. 30.
Collette Lombardi was born Sept. 30, 1913 in Camden, New Jersey. She grew up in Collingswood, New Jersey and attended Collingswood High School. She later began her career as a secretary for a Title Company. June 22, 1940,
Collette married James Lombardi and they had one daughter, also named Collette, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. & Mrs. Lombardi retired to Ocean City, NJ in 1972 where they enjoyed many of the area attractions. They especially enjoyed dancing and dining every weekend and were considered by the locals to be the “Fred & Ginger” (Astaire and Rogers) of their era.
Mrs. Lombardi enjoys reading novels, sewing and watching soap operas. The party took place in the Main Recreation Room with musical entertainment provided by the Good Timers.
