STONE HARBOR — Several local quilters were recognized recently at the Wetlands Institute’s Wings ‘n Water Festival quilt show. Visitors voted for their favorite large and small quilt for the Viewer’s Choice ribbons and ribbons were awarded in several other categories as well.

The Wetlands Quilters meet Tuesday afternoons at the Wetlands Institute to make a quilt that is raffled in De-cember at the Quilters Dinner.
The group also makes quilts that are auctioned off at the Wings ‘n’ Water cocktail party/auction and all money raised helps fund the education programs at the Institute.
Marion Glaspey established the quilting group over 20 years ago and this year’s quilt, Turtle Release, is the 29th quilt made for this purpose.
