CAPE MAY – Patti Sands of Wildwood, N.J., shown here in the Valentine’s Day Room at the Cape May Designer Show House, 25 Ocean St.., Cape May, N.J., is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for February, 2015. MAC Volunteer Coordinator Barbara Hubmaster nominated Sands for the variety of work she does for MAC throughout the year. Patti helps out by volunteering at Cape May’s Designer Show House, and helps during MAC’s Family Fun Days at the Lighthouse with children’s crafts activities. Patti can also often be seen during MAC’s spring and fall house tours, at the door welcoming visitors. “Patti is a great help to us at MAC,” said Hubmaster. “She enjoys volunteering and can always be relied on to help out when we need her.” Patti said what she likes best about volunteering for MAC are the interesting people she has gotten to know and how much she enjoys working with them. MAC benefits from the expertise of members of the community in a variety of ways. The Volunteer of the Month award is given to a person who demonstrates a high degree of dedication, commitment and constancy to MAC’s volunteer program.
