NORTH WILDWOOD — Mid Atlantic Law Enforcement Survivors Weekend President Chief Steve O’Connor accepted a memorial wreath honoring slain Philadelphia police officers from crew members of “Dragon Boat” of Philadelphia Police Department Friday, Sept. 26 upon arrival at North Wildwood Municipal Marina to begin a weekend event honoring survivors of police killed in the line of duty.
Each year, a memorial wreath is carried from Philadelphia to North Wildwood by way of the Delaware River and Bay to the municipal dock at Fifth Avenue and the bay.

We would love everyone to get together for this wonderful annual event. We won’t let the weather ruin our weekend. Of course, there are major schedule changes and some cancellations.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, a memorial parade will be held in North Wildwood along Atlantic Avenue. A reception for parade participants will beheld at Anglesea Fire Hall.
At 6 p.m. Philadelphia Police Department Highway Patrol Motorcycle Drill team will present a mini-thrill show at Second and Surf Avenues, next to Lou Booth Amphitheater.
At 7 p.m. a Candlelight vigil will be held at the amphitheater with solemn procession and wreath-laying ceremony. Survivors of other law enforcement agencies and dignitaries will speak at the event.
ON Sunday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. a Farewell prayer service will be held at Montego Bay Resort.
