NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood resident William Green recently received the American Counseling Association’s (ACA) “President’s Award” in front of 3500 attendees at their annual conference held in Orlando Florida. Bill was recognized for his work as Chair of the ACA Public Policy and Legislation Committee, where he not only advocates for national legislation that impacts the counseling profession, but also is working to enhance existing counseling services for our returning military men and women. Bill travels to Washington DC frequently to meet with our Legislators and the Veterans Administration.
He also was the recent recipient of the American Association of State Counseling Boards (AASCB) “Distinguished Service Award” at their conference in Savannah Georgia in January, where he was honored for his efforts as Past-President in improving the regulatory process of the counseling profession nationally.
Bill is a retired professor at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers University) where he was the coordinator of the MS in Rehabilitation Counseling program at the Stratford campus for 15 years. In addition to his current role with ACA, Bill is also President/Chair of the New Jersey Professional Counselor Examiners Committee, the state licensing board for Professional, Associate and Rehabilitation Counselors. He is also actively involved with many local organizations: the Cape May County Medical Reserve Corps; the Cape May County Veterans Healthcare Committee; the North Wildwood Planning Board; and is an active member of the Anglesea Volunteer Fire Company. In addition to his volunteer work, he is also a part-time employee of the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities, where both he and his wife Denise provide tours of Cape May.
