COURT HOUSE – The Middle Township Committee will honor Michael Linz as the August 2014 Employee of the Month. Linz serves as the Deputy Chief and Billing Coordinator of Middle Township’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He has been recognized by his supervisors for his tremendous work ethic and continued dedication to the EMS Department and residents of Middle Township. Linz will be formally recognized at the Township Committee meeting that will be held at the Rio Grande Fire Company Sept. 15 at 6 p.m.
“Mike has been an excellent employee and co-worker for over 25 years,” Mayor Tim Donohue said. “In that time our Emergency Medical Services have undergone tremendous changes, especially our billing services. Mike has navigated those changes with professionalism and good humor. He has maintained excellent collection rates and is always tweaking the system to build better efficiency and communication for insurance providers, as well as our residents.”
Linz, of Rio Grande, started working at Middle Township in June 1987. Married with a daughter and two sons, he states that his favorite part of his position is being able to interact with and help residents. In his spare time, he is an avid golfer.
Linz’s supervisor Sean McDevitt stated, “Mike is very conscientious with all of his job responsibilities, both administrative and operational. He is involved in various committees and groups within the Township of Middle including both the Safety Committee and Health & Wellness Steering Committee.”
The Middle Township Employee of the Month program was initiated by the Township Committee to honor employees who exemplify the Township’s commitment to better delivery of services and going the extra mile for residents. The program culminates with the Darius Graham Employee of the Year honor that is named after one of the Township’s most beloved employees in its history.
Nominations for the Employee of the Month Program are available inside Middle Township hall at three locations: Human Resources and Training Department, Administration Department, and on the bulletin board. Residents from the Township who have had a very positive interaction with any Middle Township employee may pick up the one-page nomination form and fill it out in the employee’s behalf. Each month a Township employee will be selected; the winning nominee will receive a certificate at a future Township Committee meeting along with a photograph posted on the bulletin board.
