CREST HAVEN – Troop 73 Boy Scout Zac Lambert, whose troop assisted completing his Eagle Scout project at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, expressed gratitude for support received from firms and veterans’ organizations that made the project possible.
“Our veterans are so eager to help and to teach our young people all that they know about our country and Zac has learned a lot from them,” stated Marion Lambert, his mother.
“He has attended many meetings and radio shows, and met many diplomats in our state. This process has been a great learning experience for him, an honor to meet those veterans,” she continued.
Those who played a part in the project on the county level included Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton, Virginia Tomlin, director, Cape May County Veterans Bureau, and AnnMarie McMahon, direcetor, Facilities and Services for approving this project.
Local organizations and residents who supported wi9th donations of material and time included: Douglass Monument, Smeltzer and Sons, Church’s Nursery, Secluded Acres Farms, Lundholm Landscaping, Picone Heating and Air-conditioning, Rabbit Run Lawn Ornaments, Villas Ace Hardware Kindle Ford, Sturdy Savings Bank, Pizza Hut, Stella Morris, maker of Columbust, Lions Club, Greater Wildwood and Cape May Elks.
There were many Eagle Scouts who also donated and contacted Lambert and shared their experiences. Additionally, Lambert met U.S. Rep. Robert Brady (D-PA1), who has a second home in North Wildwood, and discussed the project with him.
“Zac is hoping that project will be done by the end of August. He will continue to keep the residents posted and hope that all will come out and visit the Veterans Cemetery,” Lambert wrote.
