The Cape May County 2009 Earth Day Logo Contest, sponsored by the county, is held annually to draw attention to Cape May County’s Earth Day Celebration. This year’s theme was “Reduce Your Ecological Footprint.”
The following winners were selected from the nearly 200 entries received from county students:
First Place: Terrance Farlow, Wildwood High School.
Second Place: Briana Lynn Thompson, Margaret Mace School.
Third Place: Clayton Rossner, Cape May Technical High School.
The first place winning drawing will appear on the 2009 Earth Day T-shirts. Additionally, the first place winner receives a $75 Savings Bond; second and third place winners receive a $50 Savings Bond, and all winners receive a plaque of recognition and a county goodie bag.
The Cape May County Earth Day Celebration was held at the Cape May County Park and Zoo, April 25 with a 5K Earth Day Run followed by the Earth Day Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Fair was a fun-filled day of earth-friendly activities with a guided 1-Mile Earth Walk plus “ecoshops,” music, children’s activities, and a craft show.
