Local Toymaker Celebrates 100th birthday

By Press Release

OCEAN VIEW – Local toymaker, Ralph Passarelli, celebrated his 100th birthday with his friends at The Residence at Oceanview March 7, 2014. Mr. Passarelli looked handsome in his usual cuffed trousers, crisp white shirt and button down sweater as he accepted a Congratulatory Certificate from Senator Van Drew. Mr. Passarelli told the assisted living Residents and staff that his secret to longevity is “living a good life, and finding a good woman”. Mr. Passarelli was married to Margaret, the “love of his life”, for 68 years. He let the single ladies down gently by saying “my wife was the only girl for me”. He owned Garden State Toy and Novelty which made stuffed animals for businesses across the country. He has two sons, Ralph and Michael, and five great grandchildren. Still active and sharp as a tack, Mr. Passarelli enjoys reading the paper, talking with friends and walking.
