HERO Campaign – 10th Anniversary Golf Tournament

By Herald Staff

SWAINTON – The Ens. John R. Elliott “Be a HERO” Golf Tournament hits a milestone this year on Wednesday, May 12, when golfers tee off for the 10th Anniversary “Be a HERO” Tournament. “
Ten years is an amazing achievement and we want to thank Medilink Homecare, Inc. for their dedication and hard work as the host for the past ten years. Plus, we would like to thank the golfers and sponsors who have supported us during these years.” according to Bill Elliott, founder of the HERO Campaign.
The tournament will be held at the Sand Barrens Golf Club in Swainton, and feature a Scramble Format, Putting Contest and the popular “Tin Cup Challenge”.
Tee-off is at 1 p.m. Golfers and sponsors are also invited to lunch, provided by Applebees®, dinner and a silent and live auction. Funds raised from the event will benefit the “HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers®”, a program of the John R. Elliott Foundation.
The goal of the HERO Campaign is to eliminate drunken driving fatalities and accidents in our state and nation in honor of Ensign John R. Elliott who lost his life to a drunken driver in July, 2000, two months after graduating from the United States Naval Academy.
To register as a player, sponsor or for additional information, please contact Anne DiRenzo at (609) 567-2241 ext. 101 or log onto www.herocampaign.org
The event is presented by Wawa and hosted by MediLink Homecare, Inc.
