SEA ISLE CITY – Laura Layton, 2007 Graduate of Ocean City High School received the highest recognition award from Florida Gulf Coast University the “2010-2011 Hall of Fame Award”
Laura was one of eight students attending an awards ceremony on April 13th at FGCU. The Florida Gulf Coast University Hall of Fame award is the highest recognition given to student Leaders at FGCU. The Hall of Fame is received for those students who have demonstrated superior Leadership, Integrity, and achievement through there leadership ability, service, scholarships and Academic Excellence while members of FGCU.
Laura’s picture will be permanently displayed on the Hall of Fame wall.
Laura also plans to attend classes this summer at the University of Tampa where she will be training on how to be an Ambassador for the Rotary. She recently won a full scholarship from the Rotary and plans to attend the University of Cape Towne in South Africa in January 2012 for one year. She plans to receive her Masters degree while attending school and being an Ambassador for the Rotary in Cape Towne .
