WHITESBORO — The 19th Annual Whitesboro Reunion Festival will begin at 1 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center on West Main Street, with a fun-filled day, according to organizers.
The festival, which features an array of family activities, entertainment and a variety of craft and food vendors, pays tribute to Whitesboro’s proud history of more than 100 years of existence.
The festival provides a rare opportunity for everyone to share in Whitesboro’s progress, and history. The reunion brings together current and former Whitesboro residents and provides a fun festival for all citizens to enjoy.
The annual event has also helped raise thousands in scholarship money over the past 18 years. Additionally, the annual reunion has made it possible to fund summer camps in Cape May County for several years.
This year’s main ceremony will honor Gloria Hodges. Hodges retired in June from the Middle Township High School High Guidance Department, as chairperson. She has served the students of Middle Township with dedication for many years.
Keynote speaker will be Dr. Bessie “Williams” Young, who was recently appointed as Superintendent of the Camden School District. Dr. Young is a native of Middle Township.
Sunday worship services begin at 11 a.m. with an Interdenominational worship service at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, followed by an interdenominational Gospel Fest.
