Former Middle Township Committeeman Robert A. Hodges Sr., 57

COURT HOUSE — Robert A. Hodges Sr., 57, of this community, supervisor of Middle Township Road Department and a former Middle Township committeeman, died Oct. 27 at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
A township committeeman for 15 years, Hodges was also deputy mayor, a Planning Board member, and public safety director, and on the Board of Elections.
He was a member of Court House and Rio Grande volunteer fire companies, and was past president of the Court House Kiwanis Club.
He was appointed motor vehicle agent, responsible for relocating the office to Rio Grande. During his tenure in that post, he inaugurated a Missing Children bulletin boar placed in all DMV agencies throughout the state.
He was voted Outstanding Young Man of America in 1985.
His wife, Debra A., a son, Robert A. Jr., both of Court House, and of other family members, survives him.
Funeral Liturgy will be Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, East Mechanic Street, Court House.
Visitation with the family will begin at 8:30 a.m. that day. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cold Spring.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 626 N. Road Road, Absecon, N.J. 08201.
Radzieta Funeral Home, Court House, is handling arrangements.
