Feaster, Way Inducted Into Sea Isle City Beach Patrol Alumni

SEA ISLE CITY — With a goal to develop camaraderie and benevolence as their mission statement, Sea Isle City Beach Patrol Alumni celebrated their annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to recognize outstanding SICBP Alumni.
The event was held on Saturday, Aug. 15 at The Lobster Loft.
Jack Gibson welcomed everyone then handed the microphone to Master of Ceremonies Brendan Lake.
Lake introduced the inductees for 2009, Thomas Feaster and Lin Way. He spoke of their accomplishments on the beach patrol and in their lives. After their introductions each inductee’s presenter, whom the inductee had chosen, said a few words about their experience with the new member of the Hall of Fame.
Feaster, former SICBP mascot, lifeguard, and lieutenant, was the first to be inducted.
A few of the accomplishments mentioned about him included being a five-time SICBP city champion in doubles and singles, a Tri-Cities champion in doubles and singles, a National Schoolboy Singles Sculling Champion, and the head crew coach at the University of Tampa.
Feaster was presented by Tom McCann and his nephew Bill Feaster Jr.
Way, former lifeguard and lieutenant, was also presented by McCann. A few of his accomplishments included being a seven-time SICBP city doubles champion, a two-time Tri-City doubles champion, placing second in the Margate Memorials Doubles, and for 25 years, holding the record time for a Doubles Crew to row around the island of Sea Isle City.
Nominations for the 2010 SICBP Hall of Fame are being taken. Deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 1. Nominations should include the nominee’s name, number of years they worked, and all of their accomplishments.
