NORTH WILDWOOD – Cape May County’s Constitutional Officers – County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti, Sheriff Gary G. Schaffer and Surrogate W. Robert Hentges hosted a pizza party lunch at Margaret Mace School on May 4 honoring 4th grade student Paige Fox. Paige Fox was the 1st place winner in the 19th Annual My County Poster Contest. Along with honorable mention winner Sophia Peters, also of Margaret Mace, Fox and her classmates enjoyed a lunch of pizza, juice and cheese doodles in Mrs. Kay Weiser’s classroom. Clerk Fulginiti and Sheriff Schaffer spoke to the class about the County Clerk’s, Surrogates and Sheriff’s offices and interacted with each member of the class about role of county government. Also present were Deputy Surrogate R. Lynne Germanio and Melissa Mistic of the County Clerk’s Office who coordinated the event.
The Constitutional Officers sponsored the My County Poster Contest in April to bring awareness of the function of county government to fourth graders countywide. The winning posters will be featured on a 2011-2012 color poster calendar distributed to the winners and 2011-2012 fourth grade class. Each winner received a book bag filled with items and a personalized mug, bearing the image of the poster. The 1st place winner received a $100.00 U.S. Savings Bond, 2nd and 3rd place winners each received a $50.00 U.S. Savings Bond. The pizza party luncheon event in the winner’s homeroom is the contest “grand prize.”
