COURT HOUSE– CapeMayMoms.com, the hyper local online community for moms and families in the Cape May area, is hosting the first Mom and Baby Expo on Saturday, June 12th from 12:00pm-5:00pm at The Middle Township Sports Complex in Cape May Courthouse, NJ. The free event will offer a day for moms and families to connect and for kids to have fun with face painting, a bounce house, and story time with Disney Princess Belle.
The expo, which features family-friendly businesses from the local area and around New Jersey, will also serve as a day to give back to the community at large. Each business involved in the expo will represent a charity of their choice and donate proceeds from the event. The Hair Cuttery in North Cape May is offering $5 haircuts to be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand and is also donating hair to Matter of Trust for the recent oil spill disaster in The Gulf. All proceeds from the expo including table sales and sponsorships will benefit Love of Linda Cancer Fund, a local charity founded in honor of a Middletown Twp mom and schoolteacher Linda Bickel Grassi who passed away from Ovarian Cancer in 1994.
Three local officials, who are also moms, will also be on-hand for a special raffle to benefit their individual causes. Attendees will watch as Sherri Hemingway, President of Lower Township Chamber of Commerce (Make a Wish Foundation), Susan Atkinson DeLanzo, Mayor of Middle Township Caring for Kids), Suzanne Walters, Mayor of Stone Harbor (Cape Women’s Resource Fund) challenge each other in a tie-changing contest with a car supplied by Kindle Auto Plaza. Money raised by the winner will go directly to the charity she represents.
