COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Kristine Gabor and the Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services hosted a “Senior Day in the Park” on Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cape May County Park and Zoo located on Route 9 North in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. The purpose of the event was to give seniors a day away from the center that they normally go to and have the opportunity to visit with seniors from other centers. Also, attendees had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Department of Aging and Area Plan Contract providers. Exhibitors included the Cape May County Department of Health, South Jersey Geriatric Care, Rutgers Cooperative Extension and the Cape May County Board of Social Services.
Donna Groome, Executive Director of the Department of Aging and Disability Services said, “The day was both informative and fun for our seniors. They socialized with each other, had lunch, played games and had the opportunity to scroll our beautiful park and visit the zoo.”
