WHITESBORO — Cape Human Resources re-turned its former home in the Whitesboro School at 100 East Main Street in Whitesboro section of Middle Township on Aug. 2. The agency has a long-term lease on this historic structure with Middle Township.
In 2008 CHR and Head Start had to vacate the building in order for the township to remove lead paint from the premises for public health requirements.
Since the building was built by Booker T. Washington and a number of African-American businessmen in 1910, the structure is historically significant. Such a designation resulted in higher costs and a longer time frame to complete the work. Middle Township successfully obtained over $1 million in state grants to complete the restoration project.
After working on the project of for two years, Mayor Susan DeLanzo and the township committee gave CHR the green light to return to Whitesboro School. During that time Middle Township pro-vided space to CHR for its Food Pantry and staff in the MLK Center at 207 West Main Street..
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
