Barbara Lamont Named MAC’s Volunteer of the Month for November

CAPE MAY – Barbara Lamont of Wildwood Crest, N.J., shown here at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., Cape May, N.J., is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for November, 2014.
MAC Manager of Tour Systems and Friends of the Physick Estate Coordinator Barbara Oberholtzer nominated Barbara for her volunteer work on the Friends of the Physick Estate Advisory Team. The group completes projects throughout the year that support the preservation and interpretation of the historic 1879 Physick Estate. “Barbara is invaluable on the Advisory Team and brings her boundless energy to the Friends’ group,” said Oberholtzer. “Her enthusiasm is contagious. She is a real asset to any project the Friends group takes on and we appreciate all she does for us.” Barbara also volunteers for MAC in additional capacities: planning tours, at the Cape May Designer Show House and on the MAC Staff Advisory Team. Barbara works as a MAC Interpreter for the Tour Department, but she is frequently volunteering at MAC special events as well. MAC benefits from the expertise of members of the community in a variety of ways. The Volunteer of the Month award is given to a person who demonstrates a high degree of dedication, commitment and constancy to MAC’s volunteer program.
