Benjamin Conlin, of Court House, has been named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire for earning High Honors for the spring 2017 semester. Conlin is majoring in Business Administration: Management.
Students named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire are students who have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance during a semester enrolled in a full-time course load (12 or more graded credits). Highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

Caroline Wenzel, Class of 2018, from Cape May, was named to the dean’s list at Bucknell University during the spring semester of the 2016-17 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.

Matthew R. Engle, of Marmora, was among the more than 600 master’s and doctoral degrees, including its first Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees, at its graduate commencement ceremony May 27 in the Byron Recreation Complex. Graduates recognized at the ceremony include those who completed their degree requirements in August and December of 2016, as well as January and May of 2017.
Engle earned a Master of Science degree in educational administration from The University of Scranton.

Trevor Gehring, of Wildwood, a member of the class of 2018 majoring in chemical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in India. The project was titled Visability of Improved Chulhas in Himachal Pradesh. In their project summary, the students wrote, ” Utilizing stakeholder feedback in addition to our own test results, we designed and built an improved chulha.”

Carly Taylor, of Marmora, is one of nearly 700 Lebanon Valley College students named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester. Dean’s list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.
Taylor, a graduate of Ocean City High School, received a bachelor of science in early childhood education and special education at The Valley.

Over 1,300 students were named to the Dean’s List at York College of Pennsylvania for the Spring 2017 semester. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Emma Lukens, a resident of Ocean City, has been named to the Emerson College Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 semester. Lukens is majoring in Theatre and Performance. The requirement to make Emerson’s Dean’s List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

Cape May resident and Wesley College elementary education and special education student Denielle Maguire was one of 58 students recognized at Wesley College’s Baccalaureate Service for the Class of 2017 May 5 at Bennett Chapel.
The event was a religious service to commemorate the completion of their undergraduate education. Wesley students were presented their academic stoles from a family member or another important influence in their educational development. The academic stole is a cloth scarf to denote such things as academic achievements, membership of organizations and heritage.

Peter Année, formerly of Stone Harbor and Stone Harbor Elementary, graduated from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Md. May 14. 
At St. John’s, he completed the comprehensive program in classical Liberal Arts. While there he studied philosophy, literature, history, mathematics, economics, political theory, theology, biology, physics, music, chemistry, and languages, and completed a Senior Thesis on the principle of non-contradiction in the work of Hegel and Kant. 
Année is the grandson of Robin Stewart, former owner of Frog and Toad Shoppe, and the great-grandson of the late Cape May County physician Dr. Wayne Stewart.

Avery Simpson, of Woodbine, graduated from York College of Pennsylvania May 13. Simpson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.

Carly A. Taylor, of Marmora, was among nearly 500 students who received degrees as part of Lebanon Valley College’s 148th Commencement Exercises May 13. 
Taylor received a bachelor of science in early childhood education and special education. Taylor graduated with the following honors: Summa Cum Laude. Taylor is a graduate of Ocean City High School.

Carolyn Previti, of Seaville, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Previti is pursuing a degree in Accounting at The College of New Jersey.
Previti is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Elizabeth Messing has been named to the Dean’s List at Atlantic Cape Community College. To qualify, full-time students must earn a GPA of 3.0-3.99. Part-time students must earn a GPA of 3.0-3.99 over the course of 16 credits.

Over 130 graduate and undergraduate students from Saint Joseph’s University’s Haub School of Business were inducted into the national business honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma, during the Spring 2017 semester.
Tara McBride, of Wildwood, undergraduate student at Saint Joseph’s, was among those inducted.
