County Library Offers Novice French Classes –
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “Beginner French” class instructed by Norma Lindbloom Cruz. This 12 week program will be held on Mondays at 6 p.m. beginning April 16 at the Main Branch Library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
Whether you’re a novice student, are fluent in the language, or just desire to brush up on French conversation and grammar, this course is a fun, interactive way to practice French. The class explores what everyday French is all about.
Norma Lindbloom Cruz acquired a love of the French language early in life and went on to earn a BA in French from Douglass College, where she spent her junior year studying in Tours, France. From there she earned a Certificate in Culinary Arts from the French Culinary Institute and worked as a French cook for fifteen years in New York City. Presently Cruz teaches French to middle school students in Lower Township

County Library Offers Jewelry Workshop –
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “Craft a Gemstone Bracelet” workshop instructed by Paige Cunningham. The program will take place at 10 a.m. on Sat., April 28 at the Sea Isle Branch Library located at 4800 Central Avenue, Sea Isle City.
This is a beginner’s class for people who want to start making their own gemstone jewelry. Stringing, crimping and design will be explored. In order to participate in this workshop, you are required to bring your own tools. Required tools include sharp nosed jewelry pliers, round nosed jewelry pliers and cutters.
A resident of West Cape May, Paige Cunningham has been creating and selling jewelry at local shops and festivals for six years. Cunningham currently works for The Center for Community Arts and the Nature Center of Cape May.

County Library Offers Conversational French Classes –
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “Conversational French” instructed by Norma Lindbloom Cruz. This 12 week program will be held on Mondays at 7 p.m. beginning April 16 at the Main Branch Library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
This class is not for beginners, but for those who would like to keep their language skills fresh by conversing with others who enjoy speaking French. Using the premise that students live in a French city, a microcosm will be created where students happily chat, reserve hotel rooms, buy groceries, order at a cafe etc. Also some pieces of literature will be read and discussed. All those who wish to converse in French are welcome.

The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend a “Pain and Management” workshop presented by Kinko Hamilton. The program will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Fri., April 13 at the Sea Isle Branch Library located at 4800 Central Avenue, Sea Isle City.
Aromatherapy is a great alternative treatment for your pain and stress, proven to work throughout the world. Don’t be discouraged; even if nothing worked for you before, healing is much closer than you feel. Participants will make an all natural pain reliever roll-on.
Kinko Hamilton was born and raised in Japan. She is currently a columnist of “Happy Natural Aromatherapy” for www.metronavi.com and has taught classes in Margate City, Ocean City, and Japan via Skype and webinar.

County Library Hosts Wildlife Lecture –
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “Beach Nesting Birds” presented by Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey at 6 p.m. on Mon., April 16. The program will take place at the Sea Isle Branch Library located at 4800 Central Avenue, Sea Isle City.
Todd Pover will give a presentation on the state’s beach nesting birds, including information about identification, behavior, population status, management techniques and other strategies used to protect them.
Pover is the Beach Nesting Bird Project Manager for the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey. In this capacity, Pover oversees management, monitoring and research of piping plovers, least terns, black skimmers and American oystercatchers in New Jersey. He has been involved in the beach nesting bird project since 1994, as well as, a number of other coastal conservation initiatives.

County Library Hosts Tween Game Afternoon –
The Cape May County Library invites children ages 8 to 12 to “Get Your Game On at the Library,” at 3:30 p.m. on Mon., April 9. The program will take place at the Main Library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
Kids are invited to play video games on Wii, XBOX360 and PS3. Various board games and card games will also be available.

County Library Hosts Saturday LEGO Club –
The Cape May County Library invites children ages 5 to 12 years old and their caregivers to the LEGO Club on Sat., April 14. This year, the LEGO Club will meet one Saturday a month from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The program will take place at the Main Library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
In order to develop a theme for each meeting, we’ll read books to get ideas about what to construct and then bring out the LEGOs and build, build, build!
Parents are encouraged to stay through the meetings and build with their kids. Also, parental volunteers are welcome!

County Library Hosts Lecture on the Natural World –
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “Spring Potpourri: All Things Natural” presented by Don Freiday. The program will take place at 7 p.m. on Wed., April 4 in the Main Library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
Join us as naturalist Don Freiday discusses all things of the natural world from butterflies and turtles to snakes and birds.
Freiday is a graduate of Rutgers University and is currently the regional coordinator for the New Jersey Breeding Bird Atlas. Freiday is also the co-author of two books: “A Precious Place, a Naturalist Explores New Jersey” and “Wild Journeys: Migration in New Jersey.

County Library Hosts Lecture on Pollination and Gardens –
The Cape May County Library invites the public to attend “The Pollinator Garden” presented by Joe Alvarez. The program will take place at 6 p.m. on Mon., April 30 at the Main Library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
Pollinators are a vital connection between us and our natural world providing an important service to the environment including our food supply. The spiraling decline of pollinators both native and domestic has been escalating at an alarming rate. Habitat loss, chemical and biological hurdles all add to the demise of this very important group. Come and learn who they are and what we can do to help with the recovery of the pollinators.
Joseph Alvarez has a Bachelor of Science Degree, is a Board Member of the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge and a Certified Rutgers Master Gardner.
