Social Media Users Group at the Avalon Library
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Social Media Users Group meeting on Aug. 12 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Instructor Robert Hoesly will be lecturing on Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, if time permits.
Apple Computer Class at the Avalon Library
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold an Apple Computer Class on Aug. 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Topic is Safari. Registration is required by calling 967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
Pirate-Themed Adventure Story Program at the Avalon Library
The Avalon Free Public will hold a pirate-themed adventure story program on Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Don Dougherty of Classroom Adventure Stories will be telling an interactive story for this year’s Dig Into Reading summer series. Audience members can be involved in the story line and by use of props. All ages welcome.
PC Computer Class at the Avalon Library
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a PC Computer Class on Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Topic is Navigating Overdrive for Borrowing eBooks. Registration is required by calling (609) 967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
Video Games at the Avalon Library
The Avalon Free Public Library will be playing video games on Aug. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to Noon. All ages are welcome. The event is free and open to the public.
PC Computer Class at the Avalon Library
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a PC Computer Class on Aug. 16 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Topic is Apps vs. the Internet. Registration is required by calling (609) 967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
Creative Writing at the Avalon Library
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Creative Writing class on Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Participants will receive instructor tips and feedback on their writing and also be given the option to record their works as podcasts that will be launched on the library’s website.
The Avalon Library received 5 stars in Library Journal’s national rating of public libraries, based on statistical performance data collected by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Avalon Library is one of only three libraries in New Jersey to receive the 5-Star designation five times since 2009. The library is located at 235 32nd Street and provides free and open access to first class collections, services and programs that inspire, inform and enrich the community.
