AVALON – Check out these upcoming events at the Avalon Free Public Library!
Genealogy Workshops
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold Genealogy Workshops on Saturdays, Nov. 10 and 24 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Topics will be European Roots and Ancestors. Registration is required for both sessions by calling 609-967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
Great Decisions
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Great Decisions discussion group on Nov. 13 from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. Topic is Election Roundup. For more info, visit www.greatdecisions.org .Registration is required by calling 609-967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
iPad Workshop
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold an iPad Workshop on Nov. 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please bring your iPad to learn about its features. Topic will be Mail, Camera, & Facetime.
PC Computer Class
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a PC Computer class on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Topic is Using Google Apps: Windows, Android, and iOS. Classes are free but registration is required by calling 967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
Scrabble
Join the Scrabblers at the Avalon Free Public Library for word play on Nov. 14 from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. All are welcome.
Story Time
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold Story Time at 10 a.m. on Nov. 13 in the Children’s Library. Join us for stories, songs, and crafts for children of all ages.
Video Game Day
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold Video Game Day on Nov. 14 from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. All ages are welcome. The event is free and open to the public.
Creative Writing
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Creative Writing class on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Each session includes writing tips on poetry, memoirs, short stories, articles, and books. Please call 609-967-7155 or stop by the circulation desk to register.
eReader/Kindle Workshop
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold an eReader/Kindle Workshop on Nov. 20 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Bring your Kindle or other eReader and your questions. No registration is required and the program is free and open to the public.
iPad Beginner’s Class
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold an iPad Beginner’s Class on Nov. 13 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Please bring your iPad to learn about its features.
Knitting Club
The Avalon Free Public Library will host Knitting Club on Nov. 19 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the library. All levels of knitters are welcome.
PC Users Group
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a PC Users Group meeting on Nov. 19 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Topic is Exploration of Freeware programs available to maintain a Windows computer. No registration is required.
Story Time
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold Story Time at 10 a.m. on Nov. 15 in the Children’s Library. Join us for stories, songs, and crafts for children of all ages.

The Avalon Free Public Library will be closed on Nov. 12 in observance of Veterans Day. We will reopen on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Avalon During WWII- Online Webinar
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a webinar entitled Avalon During WWII on Nov. 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Joseph Angemi, director of the Avalon History Center, will discuss life on the home front in Avalon as a significant part of the war effort and the major impact on its outcome . The Avalon Library is one of only three libraries in New Jersey to receive the 5-Star designation four times since 2009.
