Eligible County Residents Encouraged to Take Advantage of Produce Voucher Program

COURT HOUSE — Income-eligible Cape May County residents, age 60 years and older, are encouraged to take advantage of the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) Produce Vouchers, coordinated through the Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services. This provides an opportunity to purchase locally grown produce using $25.00 worth of free vouchers. The vouchers are available July 1 through Sept. 30 and must be used at participating farmer’s markets only, not in grocery stores. Vouchers must be used by Nov. 30, 2016.
Requirements for Farmers’ Market Vouchers:
Must Be:
60 years of age or older: Must show ID with date of birth for every person in household requesting vouchers.
Must Have:
Maximum annual income of:
Individual: $1,832.00/month; $21,984/year
Two-person household: $2,470/month; $29,640/year
Must Show:
Proof of income: Social Security Award Letter or Bank Statement with direct deposit, last year’s Income Tax Return, valid low income program verification. Medicaid card will not be accepted.
Proof of ID and address: Driver’s License, Senior ID card, utility bill, bank statement, posted mail.
Proof of age.
No vouchers will be given without proper information.
Note: Self-declaration of income is no longer accepted beginning July 1, 2016.
