Eagle Scout Court of Honor Held for Paul “P.J.” Short Jr.

U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew presents Eagle Scout Paul E. "P.J." Short Jr.  with resolution on attaining the Eagle Scout rank.

SEA ISLE CITY – A Boy Scout Eagle Court of Honor was held in Sea Isle City Jan. 13 for Eagle Scout Paul E. “P.J.” Short Jr.  Eagle Scout is the highest honor in Boy Scouts.
Short, 18,  is the son of Paul E. Short Sr. and Dawn T. Fay. HIs father, the Avalon Code Enforcement Officer, is also an Eagle Scout from Troop 76, Garden State Council, Baysea District.  
Short’s Eagle project, which he originated, was installing a handicapped-access swing at Grace O’Brien Park, Eighth and Ocean Drive in Avalon.  
Short presented the idea to Mayor Pagliughi and Borough Council for their approval.
He planned the purchase with the Recreation Department and installed the swing with the assistance of his troop and alongside Avalon Public Works in 2018.
His college is San Diego State University, where he will major in International Business.
