Donohue Poised to Build on Solid Record in Middle Township

By Sponsored

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Speaking from his own back porch to an overflow crowd, Middle Township Committeeman Tim Donohue kicked off his fall campaign for a third term on Township Committee at his Summer Sunset BBQ on Aug. 31.

“I just want to say thank you to all of our friends, family, neighbors and steadfast supporters who turned out to make this event such an overwhelming success,” said Donohue. “We’ve exceeded our fundraising goals for our fall campaign. Your support tonight will help continue the fight for lower taxes and more open, honest and transparent government in Middle Township.”

A $500 donation from the evening’s proceeds will be made to the American Red Cross, in the name of the Middle Township Regular Republican Organization, to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey in the state of Texas.

“The amazing response to Hurricane Harvey by folks all over the country once again proves that Americans are a caring, generous and resourceful people,” Donohue said. “The moral fiber that binds us as a nation cannot be torn apart by those who would try to drive a wedge of hatred between us.”

Donohue reiterated his belief that it is the American people, in their own hometowns, who can solve our country’s problems, not politicians in Washington.

“The amazing photos of neighbor helping neighbor in Texas reinforce my belief that our most effective role as elected officials is simply to bridge the differences between us and bring good people together to do good work,” Donohue explained. “That’s what I’ve tried to do, with your help, for the past six years in our little patch of America, Middle Township.”

Donohue cited a long record of positive accomplishments in his two terms on Committee. Tim Donohue has never voted for a tax increase. He highlighted five consecutive years of no increase in the municipal tax levy, improved services through the streamlining and reorganization of municipal services, the pending opening of the Robert Okie Wisting Recreation Complex in Rio Grande, the completion of the Township’s Bike Path Connector Project and the growth and modernization of the police department in his three years as director of Public Safety.

“I’m proud of the work we have accomplished together. The promises I have made are now promises I have kept,” Donohue stated. “But every election should be about a better future. I’m still eager to serve. There is still much good work to be done.”

Donohue promised to run an issued-based campaign focused on fighting for lower taxes, leading on challenging issues and creating positive change.

“As I speak with voters, I try to share my optimism about the future of our country and our hometown,” Donohue said. “Ignore the petty bitterness that could divide us. Focus on the common concerns that bind us as neighbors, families, parents and patriots. Here at home, a brighter future is in our own hands. We just need to work together to make it happen. If not us, who? If not now, when?”
