DENNIS TOWNSHIP – Dennis Township Elementary School students enjoyed a day in the sun recently during the annual Field Day event.
Organized by physical education teacher Lauren Lillie, Field Day brought together 4th and 5th grade students, teachers, staff and parents in a fun-filled day of competition as well as the opportunity to hit the water slide as part of the rotation.
Students moved by homeroom around stations set up and run by parent volunteers, such as the ring toss, the pizza box relay and the tug of war.
Everyone enjoyed a lunch of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with cold lemonade or iced tea.
Principal Jamie VanArtsdalen says, “The students were smiling from ear to ear and the weather was perfect!”
Lillie thanks her colleagues Lance Hammell and Alex Petrella for their assistance and the rest of the staff who lent a hand putting the event together, especially Russ Hickman, Justin Adamson, John McGroarty and Carlos Covarrubias.
“We had a wonderful day together, it just couldn’t have worked out any better,” says Lillie.
