DENNIS TOWNSHIP – Dennis Township Primary School Guidance Counselor Jillian Bassetti recently organized a career day event for students in kindergarten through third grade.
Similar to a recent event for students in fifth through eighth grades, the career fair is designed to provide students an opportunity to be exposed to a variety of potential careers in their community.
“The goal of career day is to spark curiosity and intrinsic motivation in our students,” explains Bassetti. She states that the teachers and staff also feel it is incredibly important for students to be excited about the possibilities of their future.
Bassetti adds, “At the primary school level, we simply want our students to begin imagining ‘what I want to be when I grow up.'”
Parents and volunteers from the community pitched in to share their careers and experiences with the students.
