Atlantic Cape Poetry Reading to Feature Joel Dias-Porter April 25

ATLANTIC CITY – Atlantic Cape Community College will host poet Joel Dias-Porter (a.k.a. DJ Renegade) of Atlantic City for a reading at 2:30 p.m., April 25, in Room 204 at the Charles D. Worthington Atlantic Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd. The event is free.
Dias-Porter grew up in Pittsburgh and from 1994-99 was an individual finalist in the National Poetry Slam, and the 1998 and 1999 Heads Up Haiku Slam Champion. His poems have been featured in many publications, including Time Magazine, The Washington Post, Best American Poetry 2014, Short Fuse, Role Call, Def Poetry Jam and 360 Degrees of Black Poetry. He has also performed on the Today Show, BET and in the documentary, “SlamNation.”
