Creative Writing at the Avalon Library

AVALON – The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a free Creative Writing class from 10 a.m. to Noon on Sat., Nov. 19. The sessions are led by Dr. Sue Jacobson, professor at Atlantic Cape Community College. Each session includes writing tips on poetry, memoirs, short stories, articles, and books and students have the opportunity to record a podcast of their work. Playwriting tips and radio script writing skills are also being discussed in class.
The Avalon Library received 5 stars in Library Journal’s national rating of public libraries for the third time since 2009, based on statistical performance data collected by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The library is located at 235 32nd Street and provides free and open access to first class collections, services and programs that inspire, inform and enrich the community.
