By Press Release

TRENTON – Two winning Jersey Cash 5 lottery tickets were sold for the Dec. 4, 2015 drawing that split the $687,416 jackpot. One ticket was sold in Warren County and the other ticket was sold in Cape May County.

The first winning ticket was purchased at Quick Chek #108 on 918 County Road 517, Hackettstown by Eugene H., a gas station attendant there.

The second winning ticket was purchased at Acme Markets #7835 at 2087 Shore Road, Ocean View. Joseph W. and his wife Kathryn, from Court House, do their weekly grocery shopping at the Acme store. Each weekly trip includes a lottery purchase. Jersey Cash 5 has always been their game of choice. When Kathryn checked the numbers on their Dec. 4 ticket and saw all five numbers match, “I started to cry. It’s just a miracle,” she stated in a release. After some “rough patches” in their lives, “things seem to be looking up.” They claimed half of the $687,416 jackpot making their share $343,708. Paying off bills will be their first priority.

“Most New Jersey Lottery winners are hard-working people just like Eugene and Joseph,” Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director stated, “It’s satisfying to know that the Lottery afforded them with life-changing experiences. It’s equally important to celebrate what Lottery revenue provides to residents across the state. Lottery beneficiaries include: colleges and universities, school nutrition programs, veterans’ homes, higher education scholarship programs, the Katzenbach School for the Deaf and more.”

Since inception in 1970, the Lottery has contributed nearly $24 billion in support of vital programs and institutions. Details are available on the Lottery website at: www.NJLottery.com in the Giving Back section.
