COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Vice-Director M. Susan Sheppard invites the public to come to the Cape May County Park and Zoo for a special free event featuring the Easter Bunny on Sat., March 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with the popular rabbit – so bring your camera.
The annual event sponsored by the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders includes educational displays, crafts and live animal encounters. The event will kick off with an Easter Egg Hunt in the park at 10 a.m. Vice-Director Sheppard said, “This year, the county is using Eco Easter Eggs, made from corn, instead of plastic eggs in the Easter Egg Hunt. I am very pleased with this environment friendly change.”
“This is the ninth year the County is hosting the famous bunny and we hope our residents and visitors stop by to see him and then spend the day visiting the more than 500 animals that call the Cape May County Zoo their home,” added Vice-Director Sheppard.
The free Zoo, located in the Cape May County Park on Route 9 North, 1 block west of Garden State Parkway exit 11 in Cape May Court House, is open year round. Currently the Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. until 4:45 p.m.
