County Library Hosts Children, Teen Events in September

COURT HOUSE — County Library Hosts LEGO Clubs:
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 5 to 12 years old, and their caregivers to attend our LEGO Clubs. LEGO Club will be held at four of the library’s branches throughout Sept.
In order to develop a theme for each meeting, we’ll read books to get ideas about what to construct and then bring out the LEGOs and build, build, build! Parents are encouraged to stay through the meetings and build with their kids.

County Library Hosts Game Night for Teens:
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 to Game Night for Teens held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. The programs will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Play games on our Wii U, PS4, and XBox One! We play video games rated T and below, such as Rock Band, Super Smash Bros, and Star Wars Battlefront. We also have a selection of board games such as Apples to Apples, Munchkin, and others. Open to grades 6-12.

The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 3 to 5 years, and their caregivers to attend Preschool Storytimes to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 7, 14, 21, and 28. The programs will take place at the Cape May City Branch Library located at Ocean & Hughes Streets in Cape May.
Children, ages 3 to 5 years, are invited to enjoy stories, rhymes, crafts and lots of fun! Each storytime will include stories, songs & rhymes, and craft activities that enforce children’s basic concepts, language skills, listening ability, and social skills.

County Library Hosts Stained Glass Window Craft:
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 5-12, and their families to a Stained Glass Window craft session to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 10. The programs will take place at the Sea Isle City Branch library located at 4800 Central Ave in Sea Isle City.
Make an eye-catching stained glass window at the library! We will be using wax paper and crayon shavings to create beautiful designs that you can hang up at home. Kids 5 to 12 years old and their families are welcome.

The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6 – 12 to an Undertale themed party. The program will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 10 at the Main Branch of the Library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Teens who are fans of the video game “Undertale” are invited to our party! We’ll have Undertale themed crafts, snacks, and prizes. This program is for teens in grades 6-12. No registration required, just show up!

The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 2-5, and their caregivers to attend a Family Dance Party to be held on Mon., Sept. 12 at 10:00 a.m. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.

The Cape May County Library invites babies, birth to 2 years old, and their caregivers to Baby & Toddler Storytimes to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays, Sept. 12, 19, and 26 at the Lower Cape Branch Library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Come sing, dance, and read stories with us at the library this summer! Baby & Toddler Storytime is great for developing your child’s language and social skills. Storytime topics will complement our summer “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read” theme. Be sure to dress for mess! Some sessions may include optional arts & craft projects at the end.

The Cape May County Library invites kids in 1st and 2nd grades to be a part of the Reading Rumpus Book Club. The book club will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Mon., Sept. 12 at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Kids in the first and second grade are welcome to join us on the 4th Wednesday of each month (usually) for book discussion, treats, and a craft or game. Registration is required so please sign up in the Court House Library and check out a book. We hope to see you there!

The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12, to play Dungeons & Dragons held from 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 14, 21, and 28. Dungeons & Dragons is held at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Dungeons & Dragons is a role-playing adventure game involving quests, puzzles, and teamwork. We’ll help you make a character sheet and show you how to play! Open to grades 6-12.

County Library Hosts a Homeschool Social:
The Cape May County Library invites families to a Homeschool Social to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thurs., Sept. 15. The Homeschool Social will take place at the Lower Cape Branch of the library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
The Lower Cape Library invites all families in the area who homeschool their children to a monthly social. Each month, we will explore a different subject area with stories and activities for the children. We will also provide books for further reading, and demonstrate databases and internet sources you can access from your home computer. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with other families who homeschool and explore the library’s vast resources.

County Library Offers 4-H Cloverbuds Youth Development Program:
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 5-8, to register for a workshop hosted by Cape May County’s 4-H Foundation. The program will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 15. It will take place at the Lower Cape Branch library, located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.

County Library Hosts Kitchen Wizards:
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 5-12, to Kitchen Wizards! The program will take place twice on Sat., Sept. 17 and kids can register for one of the two sessions. The first session will take place at 10:30 a.m. and the second will take place at 12:00 p.m. The programs will be held at the Main Branch of the Library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Kitchen Wizards helps kids discover the magic of cooking, one bite at a time, through culinary enrichment programs. Plenty of samples to take home and copies of recipes provided. Kids age 5-12 are invited to participate. Space is limited and registration is required. Recipes are not guaranteed to be nut-free. Please do not register your child if they have a nut allergy.

Fifth through seventh graders are invited to join us at the library for the Book Club which meets on the third Tuesday of each month. The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 8-12, to join Writers Rock which will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Mon., Sept. 26. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Writers and aspiring writers wanted! If you enjoy writing and want to learn more about it, this is the club for you! Writers Rock is a club at the Cape May Court House Library that will meet once a month to share our writing and participate in fun activities to hone our writing skills and inspire our creativity. This year we’re learning all about poetry be sure to join us for great activities and writing sessions!

County Library Hosts LGBTQIA Book Club:
The Cape May County Library invites teens (ages 14 and above) and adults to participate in an LGBTQIA Book Club held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 27. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
The LGBTQIA Book Club will be discussing a variety of Young Adult and Adult books during this new book club which will begin at 6:00 p.m. monthly on the last Tuesdays of each month at the Cape May Court House Library.
