County Library Announces November Events for Teens

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following events and activities for teens during the month of November.
Escape Room for Teens  
The Teen Department of the Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to join us for an Escape Room challenge at the Court House Branch at 1:00 p.m. Nov. 9. The Court House Library is located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
The Escape Room, which challenges teens in grades 6-12 to work together to figure out clues that will allow them to “escape” the scenario. Participants can come as a group or come individually and be placed into a group once they get here. Have an adventure on a day off from school!

John Green Party for Teens  
The Teen Department of the Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to a celebration of works by popular YA author John Green Nov. 17 at 4:30 p.m. The celebration will be held at the Court House Library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Whether it is The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, or recent release Turtles All the Way Down, John Green’s writing has a wide fan base. Clever dialog, interesting characters, and soaring emotions give readers a lot to talk about. The party will include snacks and a chance to chat about favorite characters and moments.

Library Encourages Teens to Participate in National Novel Writing Month  
To kick of National Novel Writing Month “write,” the Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to participate in a Write-In Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Teen Space of the Court House Branch Library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
The library will provide paper, pens, writing prompts, collaborative writing games, and lots of encouragement. All teens and all writing experiences are welcome. Never heard of NaNoWriMo? Come learn what it’s all about.

Library Expands Teen Game Night to Wildwood Crest Branch  
The Teen Department of the Cape May County Library is expanding its Teen Game Night to the Wildwood Crest Branch in November. The Wildwood Crest Branch is located at 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
Teen Game Night, which includes board and tabletop games as well as videogame consoles, will be held twice a month, on Mondays, Nov. 6 and 20 at 3:30 p.m. Teen Game Night is open to tweens and teens in grades 5-12.

Teen Department Celebrates National Stress Awareness Day  
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to join us for National Stress Awareness Day Nov. 1. The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Lower Cape Branch library at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas. The event will be repeated at 5:15 p.m. at the Court House Branch, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Teen Librarians will be on hand with supplies to make calming jars, lists of resources for stress management, an example of guided meditation, and other tips for getting through the middle of the semester.

After-School Activities for Tweens
The Teen Department of the Cape May County Library will be hosting after-school activities for students in grades 4-8 at the Woodbine Branch library twice a month in November. The programs will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 14 and 28. The Woodbine Branch is located at 800 Monroe Ave in Woodbine.
Teens and tweens, in grades 4-8, are invited to join us at the Woodbine Branch for games, crafts, and other fun.
