County Library Announces May Events for Teens

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following activities and events for teens during the month of May:
6th–8th Grade Book Club
The Cape May County Library invites those in 6th to 8th grades to a Book Club that will be held at 2:30 p.m. May 11.  The program will take place at the Woodbine Branch library located at 800 Monroe Avenue in Woodbine.
Let’s get together and talk about what we like to read! We’ll have lots of books you can check out and you can hear what everyone likes to read. It’s a great way to find out about new, fun books! Open to grades 6-8 only.
Want a Book Group for your age, or at your local branch? Let us know! Call (609) 463-6357, email teen@cmclibrary.org, or tell a staff member at your local branch! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Game Night for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to Game Night for Teens held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays, May 5, 12, 19, and 26.  The programs will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Play video games, board games, card games and more! Open to Grades 6-12. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
T-Shirt Bag Craft for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites tweens and teens in grades 6-12 to a crafting session featuring bags made out of recycled t-shirts. This program will take place at four of our branches in May.
Open to Grades 6-12. Coloring sheets will be provided for younger siblings. No registration required. Just show up! Look for our take-home craft in your local branch’s teen space, too! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.

Bristlebot Craft for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to a technology crafting session featuring Bristlebots that will be held at 2:30 p.m., May 10.  The program will take place at the Woodbine Branch library located at 800 Monroe Avenue in Woodbine.
Make your own Bristlebot robot from the head of a toothbrush, a battery, and a small motor. We will show you how and give you all the supplies you need.
Open to Grades 6-12. No one younger can participate. Coloring sheets will be provided for younger siblings. No registration required. Just show up! Look for our take-home craft in your local branch’s teen space, too! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Origami Star Craft for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to a crafting session featuring origami stars that will be held at 2:30 p.m., May 24.  The program will take place at the Woodbine Branch library located at 800 Monroe Avenue in Woodbine.
Make some origami stars! We will show you how and give you all the supplies you need.
Open to Grades 6-12. No one younger can participate. Coloring sheets will be provided for younger siblings. No registration required. Just show up! Look for our take-home craft in your local branch’s teen space, too! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Teen Volunteer Program
The Cape May County Library invites teens, ages 13 to 17, to participate in the Teen Volunteer Program at the library.
Interested teens may sign up for orientation sessions at the Court House Library. After orientation, volunteers will choose from a list of available jobs. Volunteer slots will be open year-round, allowing teens to gain valuable experience that can be included on resumes, college applications, and scholarship applications.
The volunteer program is currently available at the Court House and Lower Cape Library branches.
