County Library Announces December Events for Teens

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following events for teens during the month of December.
LGBTQIA Teen Night
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to LGBTQIA Teen Night held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Dec. 19. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Are you in grades 6-12? Do you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, or asexual? Are you an ally or friend to individuals who identify in these ways? Join us for a meet up on the second floor of the Court House Library and make some new friends. We’ll eat snacks, play games, make crafts, and hang out! No registration is required. Just show up!
8-12th Grade Book Club
The Cape May County Library invites those in 8th to 12th grades to a Book Club that will be held at 6:00 pm Dec. 7. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
December’s book is Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older. Didn’t read it? That’s okay! Join us for the fun anyway. We’ll eat snacks, do crafts, and talk about each month’s book. Open to grades 8-12 only.

6th–8th Grade Book Club
The Cape May County Library invites those in 6th to 8th grades to Book Clubs that will take place at two library branches in December:

Dec. 13
2:30 p.m. – Woodbine Library, 800 Monroe Avenue in Woodbine, (861-2501)
Dec. 15    
6:00 p.m. – Upper Township Branch, 2050 Tuckahoe Road in Petersburg, (628-2607)
Let’s get together and talk about what we like to read! We’ll have lots of books you can check out and you can hear what everyone likes to read. It’s a great way to find out about new, fun books! Open to grades 6-8 only.

Dungeons & Dragons
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to play Dungeons & Dragons held from 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. on Wednesdays, Dec. 7, 14, and 21.  Dungeons & Dragons is held at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.  
Dungeons & Dragons is a role-playing adventure game involving quests, puzzles, and teamwork. If you’ve never played this game before, we will show you how! Bring your character or make one here.
Game Night
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to Teen Game Night held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays, Dec. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29.  The programs will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Play video games, board games, card games and more! Open to teens in grades 6-12. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Self-Publishing Workshop for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to participate in a Self-Publishing Workshop with local author Danielle Palumbo held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Dec. 3. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
​Do you like writing stories, poetry, or other creative projects? Local author Danielle Palumbo will show you ways to self-publish your writing and share it with a wider audience! Open to teens in grades 6-12. No registration required. Just show up!
Tech Glove Workshop
The Cape May County Library invites tweens and teens in grades 6-12 to a crafting session featuring tech gloves. This program will take place at four library branches in December.
Turn a regular pair of gloves into wearable technology that will allow you to use your touch screen device and stay warm at the same time! All supplies will be provided. Open to Grades 6-12. No registration required. Just show up! Look for our take-home craft in your local branch’s teen space, too! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
