County Library Announces Children’s Events for March

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following events for children during the month of March.
1,000 Books Graduation
The Cape May County Library invites children up to 5 years old and their families to a celebration for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at 5:30 p.m. March 22. The celebration will be held at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Children up to 5 years old and their families are invited to come celebrate with us! We will be presenting our graduates for this year, reading some stories and having snacks! If your child is not yet registered for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and not yet in kindergarten, now is a great time to start! Art @ the Library in Lower!
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-10 to Art @ the Library presented by the Cape May Center for Community Arts. The program will take place at the Lower Cape Branch Library Wednesdays, March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. The Lower Cape Branch Library is located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Children ages six through ten are invited to enjoy Art @ the Library. Activities combine literature and art where children read a book and create a work of art using a variety of media and styles. Parental participation is welcomed. These programs are presented by the Community Center for the Arts. For more information, call (609) 884-7525.
Registration is not required for these events.
Family Dance Party
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 2-5, and their caregivers to attend a Family Dance Party to be held March 13 at 10:00 a.m. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Kids ages 2-5 and their caregivers are invited to come show off their dance skills at the Court House Library! Put on your dancing shoes, bring your family, and join us for a fun interactive program featuring music, movement and more!
Registration is not required for this event.
Art @ the Library in Cape May!
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-10 to Art @ the Library presented by the Cape May Center for Community Arts. The program will take place at the Cape May City Branch Library Thursdays, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. The Cape May City Branch Library is located on Ocean & Hughes Streets in Cape May.
Children ages six through ten are invited to enjoy Art @ the Library. Activities combine literature and art where children read a book and create a work of art using a variety of media and styles. Art @ the Library in Wildwood Crest!
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-10 to Art @ the Library presented by the Cape May Center for Community Arts. The program will take place at the Wildwood Crest Branch Library Mondays, March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The Wildwood Crest Branch Library is located at 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
Children ages six through ten are invited to enjoy Art @ the Library. Activities combine literature and art where children read a book and create a work of art using a variety of media and styles. Family Movies
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-12, and their families to attend our Family Movie programs. The first screening will take place at 6:00 p.m. March 17 at the Main Branch of the Library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House. A second screeningwill be held at 1:30 p.m. March 25 at the Lower Cape Branch of the Library, located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Kids, ages 6-12, and their families are invited to watch this month’s featured film on our big screen with surround sound! Watch the movie, enjoy snacks and drinks, and relax for free at your library! This month’s filmis rated PG.

Homeschool Social
The Cape May County Library invites families to a Homeschool Social to be held at 11:00 a.m. March 16. The Homeschool Social will take place at the Lower Cape Branch of the library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
The Lower Cape Library invites all families in the area who homeschool their children to a monthly social. Each month, we will explore a different subject area with stories and activities for the children. We will also provide books for further reading, and demonstrate databases and internet sources you can access from your home computer. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with other families who homeschool and explore the library’s vast resources.

LEGO Clubs
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 5 to 12 years old, and their caregivers to attend our LEGO Clubs. LEGO Club will be held at four of the library’s branches throughout March.
In order to develop a theme for each meeting, we’ll read books to get ideas about what to construct and then bring out the LEGOs and build, build, build! Parents are encouraged to stay through the meetings and build with their kids.

Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Cape May Court House- The Cape May County Library invites children ages 3-8 and their families to a Stuffed Animal Sleepover to be held at 6:00 p.m. March 10. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Bring your favorite stuffed animal friend for a night of fun! We’ll read a few stories, enjoy hot cocoa, do crafts, and play some games. Then leave your stuffed animal at the library and we’ll make sure they don’t get into any mischief! Kids 3-8 are invited. Your stuffed animal friend will be waiting for you to pick them up either March 11; 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or March 12; 1-5 p.m. Only one stuffed animal per child. *Please keep in mind that the stuffed animals will stay at the library overnight; please do not bring a stuffed animal that is necessary for your child to sleep with.

Kitchen Wizards
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 5-12, to Kitchen Wizards! The program will take place twice March 18 and kids can register for one of the two sessions. The first session will take place at 10:30 a.m. and the second will take place at 12:00 p.m. The programs will be held at the Main Branch of the Library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Kitchen Wizards helps kids discover the magic of cooking, one bite at a time, through culinary enrichment programs. Plenty of samples to take home and copies of recipes provided. Kids age 5-12 are invited to participate. Space is limited and registration is required. Recipes are not guaranteed to be nut-free. Please do not register your child if they have a nut allergy.

Messy Masterpieces
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 2-5, and their caregivers to Messy Masterpieces to be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays, March 2, 9, 16, and 23.  The programs will take place at the Lower Cape Branch library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Toddlers, ages 2-5, and their caregivers are invited to explore their creativity with an hour-long art program, featuring stories and a sensory art project. Held at the Lower Cape branch of the Cape May County Library. Dress for mess!!
Registration is not required for these programs.
Creative Writing Club
The Cape May County Library invites kids, ages 8-12, to join Writers Rock! which will take place at 6:00 p.m. March 27. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Writers and aspiring writers wanted! If you enjoy writing and want to learn more about it, this is the club for you! Writers Rock is a club at the Cape May Court House Library that will meet once a month to share our writing and participate in fun activities to hone our writing skills and inspire our creativity. This year we’re learning all about poetry be sure to join us for great activities and writing sessions!
