Cape May County Freeholder Jeffery Pierson is pleased to invite the public to the county’s annual Healthcare Resource Day to take place on Saturday, April 8 at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
The free Healthcare Resource Day sponsored by the Cape May County Health Department will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
On hand will be key county departments that play a role in meeting community health needs such as Crest Heaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the Office of Aging and Disability Services.
Additionally, there will be free screenings by the Parish Nurse Program of the Cape Regional Medical Center for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and peripheral artery disease, fracture risk and hearing.
A major highlight of the day will be a presentation by a local acupuncture expert for major health issues:
11 a.m. – “Acupuncture: How it Works and How it Can Help” Christopher Curley L.Ac., Director of the New Eastern Health Center.
There will be more than 40 exhibitors representing various health services provided to county residents. There will be exhibits from nonprofit organizations and volunteer groups such as Volunteers in Medicine, NJ Shares, Brendan’s Fund and Gilda’s Club. Equally important will be an array of private sector exhibitors including Brookdale of Cape May, Bayada, AtlantiCare Medical Center and the Family Success Center. There will also be exhibits on important health care services within the county, including The ARC of Cape May County, NJ Family Care and Cape Regional Medical Center.
