County Hosts Healthcare Resource Day

COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Freeholder Kristine Gabor invites the public to attend the county’s annual Healthcare Resource Day. This free event will take place on Sat., April 21, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Wildwoods Convention Center located at 4500 and the Boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey.
The Healthcare Resource Day, sponsored by the Health Department, will feature key county departments that play a role in meeting community health needs such as the Cape May County Health Department, Crest Heaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the Office of Aging and Disability Services. Also, there will be free screenings by the Parish Nurse Program of Cape Regional Medical Center for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and peripheral artery disease and fracture risk.
There will be presentations by leading physicians on major health issues; as follows:
11 a.m. – “The Management of Pediatric Asthma” with Anthony Rooklin, MD Director of Allergy & Clinical Immunology, Crozer-Chester Medical Center
12:30 p.m. – “Radiology and Radiation: How Safe is It?” with David Begleiter, MD, Chairman of the Radiology Department, Shore Medical Center.
Additionally, there will be more than 40 exhibitors representing various health services providers plus exhibits from non-profit organizations and volunteer groups such as Volunteers in Medicine, Caring For Kids, Brendan’s Fund and Gilda’s Club. Equally important, will be an array of private sector exhibitors such as the Woodbine Wellness Center and Magnolia Medical Day Services. There will also be exhibits on important healthcare facilities within the county, including, The ARC of Cape May County.
