COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders passed a resolution commemorating March 25 as Greek Independence Day in recognition of the 191st anniversary of Greek independence.
The Freeholders paid tribute to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of North Wildwood and the Greek-American community of Cape May County which serve as beacons of the Greek language, culture, values, heritage, civilization and Hellenic ideals.
March 24, 2012 members of the Cape May County Greek-American Community joined Freeholder Director Gerald M. Thornton and Cape May County Officials in front of the County Administration Building for a Greek Flag Raising Ceremony as a tribute to freedom and liberty.
