WEST CAPE MAY– In the most recent development in a four-year fight over water fees, Cape May City recently released its study by Dixon Associates Engineering of Galloway Township, to determine the cause of an estimated 121 million gallons of missing water, which went unaccounted for between 2003 and 2009.
According to the Cape May study, the city actually may have been undercharging the Borough of West Cape May for said water– a finding that completely contradicted a 2011 study commissioned by The Borough. Engineer, Kevin Dixon stated during Thursday’s press conference at Cape May City Hall that, “West Cape May was receiving more water than it was being billed for. “
In light of Cape May City’s disappointing conclusion that the $700,000.00 water loss is not Cape May City’s responsibility, but in fact, West Cape May’s own, we recognize that it is in the best interests of both communities that the blame game, finger pointing and litigation threats immediately cease. A fair and final resolution of the matter requires the cooperation of both parties.
The Concerned Citizens of West Cape May are sponsoring a water rally, “Water Matters to West Cape May”, at the Cape May VFW Hall, Congress Street, on Oct. 21, 7-9 p.m., at which the history, the current status and suggested possible resolutions of this very serious community problem will be discussed. Speakers include environmental scientist, Dr. John Francis, who is running for West Cape May Commissioner November 5th and Kathleen Gallagher, an authority on West Cape May’s Water problems. Kathleen will be sharing with you her knowledge of why your water bills have taken a dramatic increase. An analysis of the effect of the water loss on the Utility Budget will also be presented. The public is invited to attend.

Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
