Wildwood American Legion, Vietnam Veterans Seek Aid for Calif. Wildfire Vet Victims

Harry Weimar

By Press Release

WOODBINE — Veterans who have lost homes or had them damaged in the recent wildfires in California are being targeted for aid by Harry “Shakey” Weimar, commander of American Legion Post 184 Wildwood.
In a release, Weimar asked for “monetary funds.”
He stated, “in the last week of October we are taking items to California to the veterans that have lost everything due to the wildfires.”
The group collected and delivered aid to hurricane victims in Florida last year.
Weimar continued, “Right now I have two pickups, a 24-foot enclosed trailer, and a 12-foot trailer. It is going to be a combined trip.”
“Please, these veterans need us. The saying that we have been saying since Vietnam ‘no veteran will be left behind.’ Well, they need us bad, so let’s show them we are here for them; we still honor that saying.”
The American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans of America chapter are located in Wildwood.
Those who wish may send donations to American Legion Post 184, 4200 Atlantic Ave, Wildwood NJ 08260.
